Valentine Hébert
Valentine lives and works in Paris. She is a graphic designer and collage artist. She likes old magazines, for their outdated images, but also for their yellowed papers which reveal infinite shades of colour. She tears or cuts them, and carefully assembles and glues small pieces, like a mosaic artist, to create new shapes. Birds, with their singular silhouette, are her favorite subject. No scientific rigour, but the pleasure of creating unique plumages and giving them an attitude, even a personality, through the well-considered choice of a human eye, a little crooked look or a sideways paw.
