Julie Tual - Cotton flower

Cotton flower
Step by step, or rather point by point, the '𝔽𝕝𝕖𝕦𝕣 𝕕𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕥𝕠𝕟' collection was built over the months.

After a first project entirely sewn during lockdown - 'Les jardins brodés' (The embroidered gardens) - and in view of the success achieved, we launched a challenge to Julie Tual who courageously took it up: sew 20,000 original cards by mixing printing and sewing techniques.

The cards printed in Paris are sewn one by one by the artist in her workshop in Nantes. They are then put in envelopes in Granville through a government social mobility scheme which provides a supported environment to workers who don't thrive in conventional employment.
An artisanal and virtuous chain where recovery, recycling and the time given are prioritised and respected.

We are very proud that her work was noticed by the editorial staff of Flow magazine who made it a favourite and we thank them for their publication!
